The Leicestershire & Rutland Friendly
Sunday 20th July, 2025 (10:00 to 13:00)
Pickleball Coalville are hosting the first Leicestershire and Rutland friendly. There will be fours courts playing, two for under 3.5 or newer players and two for over 3.5 or more experienced players. Our aim is to bring our clubs and communities together for a morning of mixed-level, social-yet-competitive play in a fun, festival-style atmosphere.
Here’s the plan:
- A round robin format where players rotate to partner with and against new faces throughout the event.
- Two courts will be for players under 3.5 DUPR, and two for 3.5 and over.
- No DUPR? No problem — players can self-select the level they feel most comfortable with.
- Each set of two courts will host 12 players, with 8 on court and 4 resting at any given time.
- This is a friendly event — scores won’t be submitted to DUPR.
We’re provisionally saying the event will run from 10am to 1pm, however, we can have more time if we need to. Three hours is usually enough for most players and the cost will be kept as low as possible, this is expected to be £10 per player (plus Spond fees).

Please note: Players from around Leicestershire have been invited and we want to see people from all clubs, whilst each club isn’t given a specific allocation of spaces, we will ensure that each club has a fair amount of players. If you don’t get selected this time, you will automatically be invited to the next event. The hope is to run these quite regularly.
